There are many reasons why teachers use reading in class. At the beginning, we use reading texts to practise pronunciation. In our country children start learning the first foreign language, which is usually English, at very early stages of their lives, generally in kindergarten. They, later on, continue studying it in primary school. It is here that they have their first contact with the written language. Since English does not have very specific pronunciation rules, it can be quite difficult to learn how to pronounce properly. Consequently, teachers practise reading texts aloud in order to familiarize the little ones with the sounds of the English language.

Reasons for Using the Internet in the Teaching and Learning Process
There are many reasons for using the Internet in the teaching – learning process of the English language. One of them and, I think, the most important one is that English is the language used to communicate on the Internet, therefore, as Gordon Lewis (2004) explains, students must be educated to become “electronically literate”. This means not only to acquire some computer skills, but also to be trained to work by using the English language. The Internet in learning is “…a place where we can apply our existing knowledge of the world – even expand it”. (Lewis, 2004:4)

Using Authentic or Non-Authentic Materials in Class
When choosing the reading materials we use in class, teachers face a quite important dilemma. Should they use authentic or non-authentic texts? Which are most suitable for the age and level of understanding of their students? Which are more beneficial for the students? We should use texts which are likely to be understood by our students and easy to read, in order not to discourage poor readers or beginners, but we should also face them with texts they may encounter in everyday life, for, after all, school is just a stage that prepares people for reality.

The Role of the Teacher in Using Computers and the Internet in Class
In order to make the computer based lesson effective, the teacher must fulfil several roles, such as resource finder, organizer, facilitator, monitor and assessor. Before the lesson even starts, the teacher’s role is that of a resource finder. The teacher has to select the web sites he or she intends to use during the lesson and check them for inappropriate content and accuracy of information. Lewis (2004) advises teachers to opt out for the sites that load quickly, otherwise students will get bored waiting for the pages to open and they will start talking and making noise.

Una dintre cele mai dificile dar totuși frumoase lecții este aceea de a ne găsi și de a învăța să ne iubim pe noi înșine așa cum suntem, cu defectele și caracteristicile proprii, fără a ne mai compara cu ceilalți și fără a ne mai raporta continuu la activitățile celor din jur. Ne naștem, creștem, ne jucăm, învățam, imităm, ne adaptăm și ne dezvoltăm, totul alături de părinți. Cu ajutorul lor învățam să scriem, să citim, să colorăm, să ne încheiem șireturile, dar mai mult de atât, învățam să ne gestionăm emoțiile, învățăm care este cel mai bun mod de a reacționa în anumite circumstanțe, care este cea mai buna cale de ales în viață. Ei nu ne impun, ei ne ghidează și ne susțin așa cum știu ei mai bine. Cu ajutorul lor învățam ce este bine și ce este rău, ne ajută să ne formăm o imagine de sine a noastră, o imagine pozitivă, care să ne ofere încredere în noi, care este semnătura noastră în activitățile pe care le întreprindem și deciziile pe care le luăm. Dar ce se întâmplă cu copiii care se nasc și sunt abandonați și trăiesc primii ani din viață în orfelinat? Care nu au un model de urmat și nici un suport afectiv suficient de puternic încât să îi ajute să se dezvolte armonios?
