International Projects Change Lives and Characters (Erasmus+)

In the context in which we are faced with the decrease in the number of students through school dropouts even at high school, with the decrease of students’ interest in the subjects of study, the desire to study or continue their studies after finishing high school, against the background of disinterest in finding a job after graduation the high school because of an unrealistic professional orientation or a weak counseling of the students, here is the chance of a recalibration of the high schools through the implementation of strategic partnership projects.

Our high school is currently running three Erasmus projects, focusing on different themes, entrepreneurship, human and women’s rights, the importance of educational games in the act of learning, critical thinking. The funding of the projects is ensured through the Erasmus+ program, promoted by the National Agency for Community Programs in the Field of Education and Professional Training and takes place in the period 2020 – 2023, and from this year we are also an Erasmus accredited school till 2027.

The „Entrepreneurial Skills in the World of Business” project aims at the development of entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking and creative, marketing possibilities, the creation of a start-up plan for a young business that will lead to the broadening of the horizon of knowledge, to a more complex perception and wider of their European cultural, financial and entrepreneurial reality.

The students from the five countries involved in the project will create and present a European Curriculum Vitae, a business plan during the 2 years of the project, a Start Up plan, they will be trained, they will work in multicultural teams on career-related topics, of the jobs that are now current and the labor market has them in mind, simulating different professions related to the profile and skills developed in the high school years.

The generous and daring goal of the „Game Literacy” project is to demonstrate that it is possible to harmonize the curricula of 5 European countries: there are common themes, contents, they can be approached from different perspectives, it is possible to cooperate at the European level in the day-to-day teaching activity with day, and this common cooperation, and we believe that we can cooperate and study this common ground, proving that there are students and teachers without borders, and the only viable purpose of the education offered by any European school is its quality.

Relying on interactive methods such as the scenario (Scenario) and under the slogan „all different, all equal”, it was imagined that each member of the team has to cross the Lisbon-Moscow route with the „Deer Valley Express” train and share the carriage with a the person from a very heterogeneous list such as: a young artist with HIV positive, a young Roma from Hungary just released from prison, a Polish prostitute from Berlin, etc. The students had to choose the difficult options first individually then in the group and to reach a common agreement but also justifying their choices – not an easy task.

There was also Role-play in a workshop during the visit, with the help of which the removal of stereotypes and lack of openness or marginalization of citizens was pursued.

The imagination of the young people from Marghiloman was put to the test by building games like puzzles or using pawns and boards through which they showed synthesized critical thinking, correct, justified choices, rational and logical solutions for borderline situations and simulations for states of affairs from real life.
