The increasing use of digital technologies in education creates both opportunities and challenges. Students are constantly exposed to large amounts of digital information, online content and social media, making digital literacy, critical thinking, responsible technology use and the ability to identify reliable information increasingly important. In this context, the Erasmus+ „Digitized Education” course provided relevant knowledge and practical experience in the use of digital tools, online collaboration platforms and innovative educational methods.
Activities During the Erasmus+ Mobility
During the mobility in Istanbul, I developed and consolidated practical skills related to: integrating digital technologies into educational activities; using Web 2.0 tools for interactive learning; creating and editing digital educational materials; facilitating online collaboration and communication; using digital platforms for surveys, assessment and feedback; developing creative and student-centred learning activities; selecting appropriate digital tools according to educational objectives; promoting digital literacy and responsible use of technology. The international learning environment also provided an opportunity to exchange good practices with teachers from another educational context and to observe different approaches to the integration of technology into education.
Transfer of Learning to eTwinning Projects
The knowledge and skills acquired during the „Digitized Education” mobility were subsequently transferred into my international eTwinning activities. One of the projects in which I applied these competences was „Infobesity – Digital Age Obesity”, an international project addressing the excessive exposure of students to digital information and the effects of uncontrolled digital media use. The project focuses on: developing students’ digital literacy; increasing awareness of misinformation; promoting critical thinking and responsible digital media use; developing research and information-access skills; encouraging creativity and problem-solving; developing collaboration and teamwork; promoting multilingualism; facilitating the exchange of cultural perspectives between students from different countries. The Erasmus mobility therefore provided practical preparation for the development and implementation of an eTwinning project in which digital technologies were not simply used as teaching tools, but as instruments for international collaboration, communication, creativity and student participation.
My Role in „Infobesity – Digital Age Obesity”
Within the project, my responsibilities included: ensuring overall project coordination; organizing and monitoring project activities; coordinating activities related to the Romanian participants; ensuring the dissemination and analysis of the Habit Map survey in Romania; uploading and organizing project content; creating and visually editing digital materials; supporting communication and collaboration between participants; contributing to the dissemination of project results. The experience acquired during the Erasmus mobility facilitated the effective performance of these responsibilities, particularly in relation to digital content creation, online communication, project organization and collaborative work.
Digital Tools Applied
The competences developed during the „Digitized Education” course were transferred into practice through the use of a wide range of digital tools, including: Canva, Padlet, Kahoot, CapCut, Google Forms, Google Gemini, WhatsApp, Instagram, PicCollage, VideoMaker, YouTube, ChatGPT, Bitmoji, Google Maps, Facebook, Microsoft Clipchamp, Audacity, ibisPaint, Krita, Astra AI, Picsart, Alight Motion and Google Meet. These tools were used for different purposes, including digital content creation, visual editing, surveys, presentations, communication, video production, collaborative activities, dissemination and online meetings.
Impact on My Professional Development
The Erasmus mobility contributed to the development of my professional digital competences and increased my confidence in integrating technology into educational projects. More importantly, the experience encouraged me to move from the simple use of digital resources towards the purposeful integration of digital technologies into collaborative and student-centred learning activities. The experience also strengthened my ability to coordinate international activities, communicate with partners from different countries and adapt digital tools to specific educational needs.
Impact on Students
The competences transferred from the Erasmus mobility contributed to creating learning opportunities in which students could: use digital tools creatively and responsibly; analyse and evaluate online information; identify and discuss misinformation; collaborate with peers from other countries; communicate in English and their own languages; develop research and problem-solving skills; create digital products; reflect on their own digital habits and media consumption. Through the „Infobesity – Digital Age Obesity” project, students were encouraged not only to use technology, but also to understand its impact on their learning, communication and everyday lives.
Dissemination and Sustainability
The knowledge gained during the Erasmus mobility was disseminated through participation in and coordination of international eTwinning activities, the creation of digital educational content and the sharing of good practices with colleagues and students. The experience will continue to be used in future educational projects by integrating digital tools, international collaboration, creative activities and critical-thinking strategies into classroom practice.
Overall Impact
The „Digitized Education” Erasmus+ mobility represented an important professional learning experience that was subsequently transferred into concrete educational practice. The connection between the mobility and the „Infobesity – Digital Age Obesity” eTwinning project demonstrates how Erasmus+ professional development can generate a direct multiplier effect: knowledge and digital competences acquired during an international mobility were subsequently applied in an international school project, benefiting both teachers and students. The experience strengthened the link between Erasmus+ mobility, digital transformation, eTwinning collaboration and innovative classroom practice, while supporting the development of students’ digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity and responsible use of digital technologies.
